If we were to stay at the Royal, I've been told that we would give up the quiet beach, so I feel that we would be giving up some quietness on either one.

I know La Esmeralda is a family resort but I could use La Perla's amenities. I am curious to see how it compares, if at all to the VIM, adults only, great swimmable beach, not crowded even when fully booked, great food + options, fun daily activities, multiple bars, pool bar, no club bands or waking up early to make reservations etc. My original post was asking about The Royal PDC as it's a bit cheaper than VIM but I came across Paradisus PDC La Esmeralda while I was waiting on feedback (same price as VIM) La Perla is $500 more out of budget.
